Il cuore della pianista

Tenera, come in certi Notturni di Chopin. Rutilante, come nei tratti più focosi del Keith Jarrett classicheggiante. Semplice e profonda, come nelle più belle pagine di Erik Satie. E’ tutto questo e altro ancora la musica di Luciana Bigazzi (…).

(…) bel disco Passages (…).

(…) nuovi sono i suoi riferimenti culturali (da Maxence Fermine ad Antoni Gaudì).
Ma al di là delle etichette, nei 14 brani dell’album pulsano atmosfere cangianti, altamente evocative, che disegnano una geografia dell’anima delicata, intimamente femminile: grande tecnica al servizio di un grande cuore.

Luciana Bigazzi non ama racchiudere la propria musica nella definizione di un “genere”, e ci tiene ad affermare che ogni brano nasce dall’emozione, non da calcoli armonico-matematici. Anche i titoli, narrativi, poetici, spesso nomi di luoghi e paesi.lo rivelano.

Quanto è naturale l’approccio ala composizione della pianista e compositrice torinese, tanto la sua visione della musica pianistica di oggi (…) è libera, aliena da preconcetti.

Incontro con Luciana Bigazzi

Una “ricarica” di fantasia

La pianista (…) compone soprattutto per la volontà di cimentarsi con musica nuova, che stimoli le emozioni, con percorsi sonori fissati sul pentagramma. L’ultimo cd, Passages, contiene un Gloria, che conferma l’intenzione di scrivere un’intera Messa per pianoforte. (…)

Passages, il disco che raccoglie le ultime composizioni della pianista Luciana Bigazzi, è nato da alcune riflessioni sull’esistere. In fondo, spiega la musicista (…), la nostra vita si sviluppa attraverso “passaggi”. È come un viaggio con le sue partenze e le fermate. E poi, anche sotto il profilo musicale, i “passaggi” melodico-armonici ci conducono in luoghi e tempi segnati dalle emozioni.
Prima ancora di affidarsi all’ascolto del cd, colpiscono i nomi dei brani: dai Fiori di loto del precedente disco, Lacoste, al Gloria di Passages, un brano ispirato alla religiosità cristiana. Due mondi spirituali lontani, da Oriente a Occidente, apparentemente inconciliabili. Eppure, proprio le composizioni di Luciana Bigazzi svelano che il concetto di Oriente e di Occidente è limitante. “Basta osservare un mappamondo per rendersi conto che ogni terra ha, dentro di sé, il suo Est e il suo Ovest”.

The heart of the pianist

Tender, as in certain Chopin Nocturnes. Glowing, like the fiery passages of Keith Jarrett in his most classical. Simple and profound, like the best pages of Erik Satie. The music of Luciana Bigazzi is all this, and more besides (…).

(…) her cultural references are new (from Maxence Fermine to Antonio Gaudì).
But setting aside the labels, the 14 pieces pulsate with changing, highly evocative atmospheres, which sketch the geography of a delicate, intimately female soul: superb technique at the service of a big heart.

A stave of memories and landscapes. Luciana Bigazzi uses sounds and silence to describe past experience and emotions. Drawing on the great classical culture. But also on popular and ethnic tradition.

Luciana Bigazzi does not like to constrain her music within the definition of a “genre”, and she insists on underlining that every piece is generated by emotions and not by harmonic or mathematical calculations. This is reflected in the titles, which are narrative, poetical and often the names of places or towns.

The approach to composition of this pianist and composer from Torino is as natural as her vision of piano music today (…) is free, and devoid of preconceptions.

Encounter with Luciana Bigazzi

“Recharging” the imagination

The pianist (…) composes primarily out of a desire to try her hand at new music, which stimulates the emotions, with tonal evolutions that are fixed on the musical stave. Her latest CD, Passages, contains a Gloria, confirming her intention to write an entire Mass for the piano. (…)

Passages, the CD that contains the latest compositions by pianist Luciana Bigazzi, was the result of meditations about existence. Basically, the musician explains (…), our life is developed through “passages”. It is like a journey, with departures and arrivals. And then, even from a musical viewpoint, the melodious and harmonic “passages” conduct us to places and times that are marked by emotion.
Even before we listen to the CD, we are struck by the names of the pieces: from the Lotus Flowers on the previous CD, Lacoste, to the Gloria in Passages, a piece that is inspired by Christian religiosity. Two distant spiritual worlds, from East to West, apparently irreconcilable. But Luciana Bigazzi’s compositions reveal that the concept of East and West is restrictive. “We only have to look at a globe to realise that every world has its East and its West within itself.”
