Luciana Bigazzi, a celebrated pianist and composer, began playing the pianoforte at the age of five.

The deep conviction that music is “one”, without any cultural barriers whatsoever, is a fundamental tenet in Luciana Bigazzi’s musical world: a world in which emotion transpires in interpretative nuances present in her execution of a piece and her excursion into wide compositorial spaces, with slow and evocative, episodes, alternated with other implicating rhythms in which the piano is fuelled by an incandescent engine which would appear to wish to continue ceaselessly.
Her particular talent as a “pianist-composer”, reveals a new, fresh and eclectic artistic personality.

Having gained the Diploma in the Pianoforte (at the Turin Conservatory), and the Diploma in the Harpsichord (at the Conservatory of Milan), her University Specialisation on the theme “Le culture musicali” (Musical Cultures) (University of “Tor Vergata” in Rome), she continued her advanced musical studies and the expansion of her repertoire of keyboard music of the eighteenth to the twentieth centuries with Emilia Fadini, Jörg Demus, Paul Badura Skoda and Lazar Berman.
She has taken part in numerous International Musical Festivals, and in television broadcasts by RAI Television, RAI International and other broadcasters.

She enjoys travelling and the arts, the nature and the scents of excellence have always fascinated her and his love for animals is present in his music. The photographic camera has always been and continues to be a notebook and diary of her life.

At the same time she has also developed her interest in the musical world of Jazz-Rock and Fusion, dedicating herself to the artistic production of specialised discografic projects including the production of CDs and videos of Maurizio Colonna and of the Maurizio Colonna duo (classical guiitar) e Frank Gambale (electric and acoustic guitar).

On January 2000 she was invited to perform at the Concert of the Epiphany (Concerto dell’Epifania) at the Monastery of Saint Clare (Monastero di Santa Chiara) in Naples in a duet with Maurizio Colonna, accompanied by the Orchestra of the Basilica of Saint Clare (Orchestra della Basilica di Santa Chiara) conducted by Renato Serio (Italian State Television “Radiotelevisione italiana – Rai Uno, RAI International – RAI Sat” – televised live – worldwide broadcast) and broadcast at a later stage on 6 January on Italian State Television 2000.

Her compositions are published by Carisch (Music Sales – UK) and Bèrben (Italy) and she has been responsible for producing and directing a series of music for Christmas Christmas Songs Collection, which includes original compositions and versions written by celebrated contemporary musicians for the same publisher.

She has made numerous discografic recordings as an original interpreter and since 2006, has made her discografic début with a project subtitled “Works for Piano” : the first album, Lacoste (NCM New Classic Music / EGEA Distribution – 2006), and the second, Passages (NCM New Classic Music / EGEA Distribution – 2008) have been very favourably received both by critics and her admiring general public. The third album, Magical Places (NCM New Classic Music / EGEA Distribution), released in January 2011, constitutes an important moment in her compositional career, in which a recognisable language emerges, supported and sustained by a high level of interpretative capacity.
The compositions which appear in the three CDs “Works for Piano” have been published by Carisch – Machiavelli Music Publishing.

In February 2009 she inaugurated the concert programme “The new italian instrumental music” in London, at the Italian Cultural Institute in London with a concert “Works for Piano”, which was dedicated to her own music.
